the cosmologist

as he cleared his throat, she looked at him interestedly. he opened his mouth as if to speak, but the hand holding his glass began to tremble and his lips clutched at the straw. in his imagination, he quaffed concentrated self-esteem. he put down his drink, wiped his sweaty hands at his trousers and adjusted his specs. natural limitations

sex antitheticity

carrie bit her lower lip for a moment, as if to prevent any words that would upset berger even more from leaving her mouth, but then she decided that she didn't care about his emotional status. "i never said you're an idiot!" she placated, because it was the truth. "i said that i suspect everyone who talks like that about the particularities of the female body of being a potential idiot, as a matter of routine, but you undoubtedly convinced me that you are in fact an extremely intelligent, meticulous, self-conscious, self-righteous, ignorant asshole."
