sore eyes

today i'm answering some questions no one asked, not even the two people who come here from time to time to wonder when there'll be an update.

why hasn't there been an update in ages? because the site has become too ugly too look at it; i can't stand to upload stuff. why is the site looking so ugly? because the default skins were changed and now don't fit together with the ones i modified. why didn't i update the modified skins? because it's not worth the effort, i'm waiting for the batch skin upload function i prototyped to be available here, so i can upload an entirely new set of skins. why isn't the batch skin upload function available yet? because the people who could make it happen, first and foremost myself, are lazy bastards.

by the way, i'm okay with hoity toity, but i refuse to parse googly moogly.

tribute to shirley

i admire those jazz organists that simultaneously do a completely different task with each of their limbs, while drinking a glass of water and not at all looking like this was straining or stressful in any way. women seem to be the majority among them, which is odd because among jazz musicians in general, they're a dwindling minority. maybe their brains are better suited for the job.

higher state of consciousness

the bleeping and rattling that has been hanging down from the back of the other chair for hours, largely unregarded, slowly starts to attract my attention because familiar patterns are emerging from it. i reach over, put the headphones on and recognise an old acid track woven into the darkish d&b percussion. "ah, childhood memories!", i think, "much better than the flashbacks from the acid trips."

noticeable improvement

there once was a coder so keen

that ninety percent
of runtime were spent
and sped up the idle routine.
