you had to do extensive, time-consuming research to get the information you wanted, because it's in none of the online encyclopediae. after you had dug it all up, you could have entered it into those databases, but you realized that it wasn't in them in the first place because people stopped caring about this fabourite topic of yours before those online reference works were even invented.
